Twelve men discuss the destiny of a nation in the high-stakes negotiation that led to the Declaration of Independence, which is the subject of the musical 1776. The musical portrays the struggle these loyal, tenacious people faced in putting aside their ideological differences and coming to an agreement that ultimately resulted in the secession from Great Britain. This Tony Award-winning musical is intended for everyone over the age of thirteen. Along with this, it has the well-known songs Overture, Sit Down, John, Piddle, Twiddle, and Resolve by the Lees of Old Virginia.
