There is a stunning irony in the fact that Shaina Taub is the first woman ever to independently win Tony Awards, and is the second woman in Broadway history to write the lyrics and book, compose the music, and also star in her own work. SUFFS tells the fantastic historical story of the brave women behind the ratification of the Nineteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution that granted women the right to vote. The phenomenal, passionate, fierce, and funny theatrical sensation boldly explores the successes and setbacks of the American women’s suffrage movement with music that both stirs emotions and inspires a chuckle, magnificent storytelling that is as affecting as it is humorous, and exciting choreography that both grips and shows.
